“This mix probably needs some explaining… it’s not a peaktime mix or a headnod mix… it’s an afterhours thing but still based in the club, and it’s partly inspired by the last gig I played in Berlin… it should be a feeling that real clubbers know all about, that time of the morning/afternoon/next night when everybody’s in it together, social barriers have broken down through intoxication, lack of sleep, physical contact, but it’s beyond the point of just being able to easily speak to anyone in the club (it’s actually past the point of being able to speak) – getting another drink or checking out the opposite/same sex and all that has burned away, leaving just a conversation between DJ and crowd… just dancing and music, and the music is freaky, eclectic, sleazy, odd or sometimes terrifying, it’s narcotic and dissonant and trippy, sideways and wrong and imperfect, but perfect for that moment. Hope you know what I mean, and hope you enjoy it!”
