Avete mai provato ad intervistare un dj nel bel mezzo di un set? A me è capitato Giovedi 3 Febbraio al Goa di Roma, in fondo lo spirito degli “shots” è proprio questo, fare domanda a brucia pelo ai dj. Trovo un foglio e una penna, scrivo in stampatello alcune domande e le passo a Tassilo (il più biondo del duo) in console. Sorride, prende la penna e comincia subito a rispondere nel bel mezzo del set. Tempo di mettere un disco, aggiustare qualche passaggio e mi ridà il foglio con le risposte. Posso tornare ad ascoltare la techno berlinese di questo duo galattico, l’impianto del Goa è al massimo e il mio umore lo segue. Grandioso!
Che ne pensi del Goa e del suo pubblico?
100% grandioso. Questa serata è semplicemente pazzesca. Siete carichi, energici, mi piacete!
Com’è partito il progetto Pan-Pot?
Nel 2004, abbiamo studiato insieme al SAE Institute di Berlino. E’ li che abbiamo iniziato a condividere la passione per la techno: questi sono i Pan-Pot.
Come siete approdati a questo sound? Perchè non house o electro?
Fanculo le cazzate, solo techno!!!
Quali sono gli artisti che vi hanno formato?
Le nostre influenze provengono un po’ da ovunque ma fondamentalmente ci deve essere l’elettronica alla base, dalla downtempo a cose più spinte. Poi ovviamente c’è tutta la musica precedente all’elettronica che abbiamo tutti per forza nel sangue! Tanto per dire due nomi: Depeche Mode e Sven Vath.
Fino a che ora pensate di andare avanti questa sera?
Noi i dischi li abbiamo, voi sembrate non avere problemi, finchè reggiamo stiamo qui!

Have you ever tried to interview a dj while he is playing? It happened to me on February 3rd at Goa. These are “shots”, at last: asking point-blank questions to Djs. I grab pen and paper and I write few questions in capital letters and I forward them to Tassilio (the blonder one). He laughs, grabs the pen and starts to answer the questions just there, in the middle of the set. 5 minutes time, changing a record, and he gives me back the paper with the answers. Now, I can listen to this berliner techno duo again, pushing their sound and my mood to the limit. Awesome guys!

How “Pan-Pot” project started?
We started in 2004 studying together at the SAE institute of Berlin. We shared the love for techno: this is Pan-Pot.
Why do you prefer minimal instead of electro or house?
Fuck games, it’s all techno!!!
what about artist and music that formed pan pot?
Influences came from everywere but we need electronic, also a little bit, from downtempo to stronger things. Moreover there is all the music prior to electronic that we all have in our blood. Just to mention two names: Depeche Mode e Sven Väth.
