Nell’intervista di fine Aprile a Teki Latex, alla domanda sui progetti futuri rispose: «there’s going to be a big compilation on Sound Pellegrino which is going to be a mixture of everything you would like it to be, and more. A blend of the past, the present and the future of the label, with elements from the spirit of our crossover series, classic label heads coming back, and some exciting new faces.» La compilation è finalmente uscita e merita almeno un ascolto per una serie di motivi riassumibili in due punti toccati dallo stesso Teki:
– This album is being released 100% independently: no license deal, no sponsor, not a single ad bought, not one promo CD burnt. Every cent comes out of our pocket, every investment is by us, all the risk is on us, there is no safety net;
– We are trying something special with this compilation: reflecting our ideology without doing only self-promotion, giving a view of modern music without pushing expected clichés of what German, Dutch, British, French, Scandinavian, American electronic sounds might be in the mind of the press, the young fans, and everyone who doesn’t have the time or the access to all that’s going on.
Insomma, un salto nel vuoto, il secondo in ordine temporale dopo la decisione di metter su una label “vinyl-only”, ma che ben rispecchia la genuinità e il coraggio del progetto. Cinque alto.
